Story
Julius Tart designed some of the most well-known glasses when he started his brand in New York in the 1940s. Over time, these signature frames became famous thanks to film stars like James Dean. In 2016, Tommy O’Gara from The Light Co. teamed up with Julius Tart’s nephew, Richard Tart, to bring back the brand. They used inherited archival material passed down through the family to recreate the classic frames. Today, the frames are made in Japan with premium cellulose based acetate and still feature durable barrel hinges, making them long-lasting.
